The Big Bend Protecting Children's Innocence Task Force has been created to tackle the rising number of crimes against children and improve community safety.
Law enforcement agencies, together with All Things Possible Ministries, announced the launch of this new task force focused on preventing crimes against children, especially those committed online.
The initiative allows the purchase of new equipment that accelerates investigations, in some cases reducing the time from six weeks to just one week.
"Stop what you're doing or you will be caught," said a representative from All Things Possible Ministries, a non-profit partner supporting the Task Force.
Rachel Buell, Sergeant of the Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit at the Leon County Sheriff's Office, highlighted the increased capabilities provided by the Task Force:
"This just puts some bite behind the bark, so to speak. It gives us more resources, more manpower, more technology, more training."
Maya Sargent is the neighborhood reporter covering this development for Northwest Tallahassee.
Author's summary: The Big Bend Task Force combines new technology, funding, and partnerships to accelerate investigations and better protect children from exploitation and abuse.
